Enders Game

This is a work that was inspired by the book "Enders Game" from Orson Cott Card. It is about a intellectually giftet boy, who has to go through a inhuman military training. The instructors idea is, to create the perfect strategist. For this, they have created the "battle room" in which Ender has to fight with his team against another team of children (all intellectually gifted). The battleroom has no gravity. The armor of the children is not for protection but to simulate strikes by the simulatin-handguns, so that the strucked Arm or leg is "frozen".

But I didn´t modelled this armor thinking about technical aspects but thinking about the isolation and pressure, Ender feels during this 4 years of inhuman military training-system. And it also symbolizes the emotional armor, Ender build up.
Above all Ender is described as a person, that emanates an invincible authority, anyway he is a child.

Some technical information:
made with Blender 2.3x
Portprocessing: Gimp, ArcSoft-Photostudio

So far...
I hope you like it

Greetings, Immanuel

This picture was made for a contest on "Blendpolis", the german Blender-Community. The contest-theme was "giant". I know, this rock giant is maybe an self evident realization of the theme. But what should I do? I´am a Brian-Froud Fan and this was a nice occasion to create a picture with a similar look.

some technical informations:
made with Blender 2.42
Postprocessing with Gimp, only more contrast and color intensity.
The sky is a photo.

I hope you like it

Arrival in the morning

Title: Arrival in the Morning
Name: Immanuel Günther
Country: Germany
Software: Blender, Terragen, Gimp and ArcSoft-Photostudio

This ist the first Fantasy-Landscape I made in 3D. Several ones I did in the past on paper, so it was a new way for me and I liked it.

The foreground I made with Blender 2.41, the Background with Terragen. For Postwork I used Gimp and ArcSoft-Photostudio.

I would be glad to get critique on it, because I´m still learning to work with Blender and other 3D-programs, and it was not long ago, that I decided to enlarge my possibilities in art from traditional techniques to the CG-world.
Nevertheless, I hope you like it...

concept of a colonization spaceship with gravity rings

This is a spaceship I designed for a spaceship design competition at blendpolis, the german Blender-Forum.
I tried to invent a ship, that would be able to reach other solar systems with technologies that are already in use or are known as possible.
So for artificial gravity there are rings and it has two strong ion-engines. For Energy there is one Fusion-Power-Plant for every engine. It has also some landing-vehicles that look a little bit similar to a space shuttle.
It would last 50-200 years to reach one of the closest solar systems with this ship, but for this it has enough space for over 3000 people which could survive for some generations in this ship.
I know, that there must be many other technologies, that are in these days not on a level, that they would work perfectly enough for a ship like this, for example recycling technologies of everything the 3000 people waste (food, air, water...). But I think a ship like this is far more realistic than most of the ships we know from movies and tv-serials.

The 3D-model was completely build, textured and rendered with Blender. Only the layout was made in another programm (ArcSoft Photostudio).

I hope you like it...

S-Bahn Berlin (City-Train in Berlin)

This was one of the first bigger works I made with Blender. At that time it was mainly for Exercise but I think the final Picture is nice enough for my Portfolio.
There are many details I wouldn´t do in this way today, but one can´t be 100% satisfied all the time...
In the distance in the middle of the picture, a small part of the picture, where you can´t recognize any details any more, the 3D modell turns over into a photo, because I was too lazy to go on with modelling the End of the Train...

I hope you like it...
